Moving a database

When moving a database, follow these steps to ensure Super Search continuous functionality:

  1. Turn off Super Search. This will delete its index and other things that do not have to be copied.
  2. Perform the Backup and Restore actions to move the database to the new database, possibly on a new SQL Server.
  3. If moving from one Microsoft SQL Server version, to another version, make sure that the *Compatibility Level* of the database is set to the correct version.
  4. Turn on Super Search. This will reindex the full text search index for Super Search, and create new reindexing jobs for the new database. The jobs are mapped to the name of the database where Super Search is activated.
